Our Vision is to “Love God, love people and follow Jesus.”
We first acknowledge that God loved so humanity that while we in rebellion against God and indeed we were His enemies, God still loved us to send His son Jesus into the world to die for our sins by crucifixion on a Cross. We discover this unfathomable love of God and are so compelled to love God with all that we have. There is no greater love, than to lay down ones life for his friends. God did it for all of us. This is the greatest commandment to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all our mind.” (Matthew 22:37)
Secondly we take seriously the example of Jesus in loving all people. Jesus story of the Good Samaritan sets the high standard of care for people in need and defines broadly who we call neighbours without restriction to race or belief. Jesus says that the second greatest command is to “Love your neighbour as yourself” (Matthew 22:39)
Lastly we seriously believe that Jesus’ call to follow him is a call to believe in him as God’s Son, to follow Jesus example, teachings and call to share the great news of forgiveness with all mankind. Jesus gave the great commission to all his followers “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)
We are not a perfect church or perfect people but we are church that seeks to live out God’s commands and commission in our community. We hope and pray we can together be all that God has called us to be.
