We are excited about the giving towards commitment day. It not only represents a visible and tangible evidence of God working to produce generosity but also testifies to our heart for Mission both here in Ipswich and around the world in Zimbabwe. We believe in our Zimbabwe partnership and look forward to hearing our giving has enabled ministry there to thrive.
We also are developing very clear strategies for outreach here in Ipswich. Giving will fuel this mission and ministry and enable us to connect better with our neighbours and community. Connection has two facets: Our “personal” connections with neighbours, friends, family and workmates. These are the best and most effective as God calls us to be missionaries where he has planted us in this community. The second is a broad “Community” connection. These occur when we connect with unchurched people that we have no initial relational connection with. We do this through different media outreaches. These can include physical invitation cards (eg. Christmas services) and our website as prime examples. We will be investing part of our commitment day offering in these initial two connections.
As a part of our “website upgrade” investment, we want to incorporate “real” people photos from our Whitehill Congregation Ministries. Whilst Photoshop photos can look sleek, they can also appear plastic. Real people in real photos are natural and appealing. We also want to respect people’s right to privacy and not be photographed. I am sure that most people are happy to have photos utilised but if you would prefer to not be included please email or notify the church office so we can ensure your wishes are respected (click here). Photos will be taken over the coming months which will include photos of children and teens.
