For the last year we have been working to resolve a problem with our main electrical supply… basically its too small! In 2000 when the Childcare and Church were constructed we were able to have the power connected at basically double the usual household supply (3 phase). Over the last 20 years we have continued to expand both with additional rooms (mezzanine rooms in 2010 and hall rooms in 2020) and also upgraded appliances (kitchen in 2019 and air conditioning in 2017). All of these are a normal part of growing and we are excited when ministry grows so that we need more resources. The power resource is a key driver to our facility, so after the last year of investigation, comprehensive testing, applications and reports, we are now moving forward with an upgrade to almost double our mains supply capacity. This not only caters for the present but also gives us some capacity for further growth into the future. Over the coming weeks you will notice some new trenching adjacent the main driveway. We ask parents and ministry leaders to please monitor your children as new conduits are installed over the coming month.
STOP PRESS!! A couple of months ago we applied for a grant to help fund the project. We have just heard that we have been awarded a $15,000 grant towards the cost of the project. This is an added financial boost and great blessing to the church. We are very thankful to the Ipswich City Council Major Grants Scheme for this contribution to our infrastructure. Praise God.
